Hi Everybody,

The funny part is that I'm going to attempt to run 26.2 miles which will not be easy for a short fat bloke!

The reason? 

I believe in the saying 'charity begins at home' therefore, I'm looking to raise money for a charity that's close to my heart. 

The Charity?

I have chosen Kidney Research UK as two of my family members and a close friend have Kidney disease, one has had a transplant and the other two are currently having dialysis.  It's not nice! and its very intrusive on their everyday life and if my small token helps, well, all the better.

Kidney Research UK is dedicated to improving the understanding of kidney disease, its causes, prevention and treatment. The Charity’s main research objective is to support a wide range of projects by UK scientists, through a combination of open response-mode calls and commissioned research in strategically important areas

Why the london marathon?

This is one of the most prominent events in the sporting calender that let's ordinary folk take part and I believe this will provide me with the opportunity to make the maximum amount for the charity.

I also believe in the healing powers of laughter so if you are feeling a bit down and need cheering up come along on the day and witness my attempt.

Obviously all donations will be gratefully received so please give generously.
