My name is Andie, I'm 33 and I live in Leasowe on the Wirral. I will be spending the next year raising money for the NDCS (The National Deaf Children's Society). Unfortunately, I have had to surrender my Golden Bond Marathon place basically for fear of not raising the required target and being liable to pay the shortfall myself. I am going to continue to raise money for the NDCS though and I am currently looking for a local event to enter instead!
As some of you are aware my seven year old son, Brodie, is deaf. He slipped through the newborn screening net and was left undiagnosed until he was four. So the NDCS is a charity that is close to my heart. They were and continue to be a great help and support to us and thousands of other deaf children and their families.
