Story

Anyone after the Mighty Brighty song and video, please visit http://www.mightybrighty.co.uk

OK, so back in October I ran the Royal Parks Half Marathon on behalf of a male cancer charity; after personally being affected by it myself.

Now I'm back and I've manned up.  Now is time for a FULL marathon.  The London Marathon at that.

Again, I'm running for a cancer charity, namely The Association for International Cancer Research (AICR), which funds cutting edge research into the causes of cancer.  You can find out more about the charity here: http://www.aicr.org.uk/aboutaicr.stm

Throughout your lifetime, it is likely that you will be touched by cancer in some way.  It's certainly been this way for me.  Along with myself, both my parents have been unfortunate enough to be touched by cancer and in January 2007 my Uncle Kevin lost his fight with it.  So for me to run for a general cancer research charity, rather than a male cancer charity was the next logical step.

I have a mountain to climb training wise.  But the training I can handle myself.

The other hurdle I have to overcome is raising money for this cause.  For this, I need your help!

I realise we are seeing (the end) of the credit crunch, and lots of people have already donated towards my Half Marathon, but please please PLEASE dig deep for what you can.  I assure you, that after the London Marathon, I'll hang up my money raising hat....

As always, you can follow my progress on my blog at http://brightydoesarunner.wordpress.com

Thanks in advance!
