LOOK! We now have an amazing website too - go to www.runhome.org.uk to find out more about us, our run and our training and about Ty Hafan.

We have received generous offline donations from Visual Planet Ltd, the Pontypool Branch of the Regimental Association, Mr AB Williams and Mr & Mrs David Thomas - thank you.

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

The six of us are soldiers currently deployed on operations in Afghanistan and decided to 'Run Home' to Wales on our return for a charity that feels close to our hearts while we're out here, away from home.

In 'Running Home' we will each run a marathon a day for four days, taking us from our barracks in Wiltshire to the Ty Hafan hospice in South Wales. Training out here in the heat and dust isn't always enjoyable, but we're proud to have such a worthwhile goal to aim for.

Our Battalion, the 2nd Battalion The Royal Welsh, has a long-standing relationship with Ty Hafan and we're proud to be playing our part in maintaining that. Ty Hafan provides comfort, care and support to life-limited children and is dedicated to improving quality of life for the whole family. The care and support provided by Ty Hafan is offered completely without cost to all those families in Wales that need them. Ty Hafan has directly helped the families of our soldiers; the reassurance that their loved ones are receiving the best possible care and support at home is critcal to the wellbeing of our guys when deployed abroad.

We would like to raise £20,000 for Ty Hafan. If you'd like to, please help. £25 will keep the hospice warm and cosy for the day; £2,500 will pay for a month of some of the vital therapy the children receive. We will keep you updated on our journey from the dusty trails of Camp Bastion in 40-degree heat to the wintry roads of Wiltshire on our JustGiving page.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to Ty Hafan and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - we raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for Ty Hafan.

Thanks again, from all of us who will Run Home.
