Story

UPDATE 6; 26.07.10I'm back!  After some much needed R&R i'm back on the miles and fundraising trail!  I've just broken through the 300 mile mark (301.2) and have completed my first 30 mile ultra (Dowland Ultra - 26.07.10).

So what's happened?  Heroes Run 10k 16.05 - how many superheroes can you get on Brighton Seafront? Bewl 15 (04.07) Chichester Challenge - 42km (11.07) to name a few.

Whats next?

South Coast 1/2, Seaford Marathon, Arundel 10k, Firle 1/2, Beachy Head & Abingdon Marthons - and an Ultra to finish in December!!

UPDATE 5; 05.05.10That's it!! 3 Marathons in 2 weeks and what an experience.  The weather for the 3 Forts Marthon couldn't have been worse, but I have now ventured into the world of Ultra running and I quite liked it!! Picture and results available here; http://www.threefortsmarathon.org.uk/3forts-pics2-2010.asp

Brighton; 4:43:31, London; 4:04:09, 3 Forts; 4:35:59 = 13:23:39 total time

I've completed 193 miles of the challenge and have run over 600 miles already this year when combined with my training; it may not suprise you that I'm now going to have a little R&R!!

And so on to the second half of the year; 2x 30 mile Ultras, 3x Marathons, 1x 20 Miler, 6x 1/2 Marathons & 2 10kms!! (and some 5kms as well)

Thanks Again - Ewen x

UPDATE 4; 27.04.10162 miles in and LonDONE!! 'The suit' returned, the day was amazing, the race was perfect and I finished in 4.04.09 - GET IN!!  £3000 has now been broken and only 1 more marathon to go to complete the '3 marathons in 2 weeks' challenge!! A MASSIVE thank you to everyone that has supported me so far in many different ways - it means a lot.  The next time I update - hopefully all 3 marathons will have been run!!

UPDATE 3; 21.04.10136 miles in and we're through £2000!!  Brighton Marathon was tough going on the 18th - massively underestimated how difficult running 26.2 would be in 'the suit' but at least i finished (in one way or another!).  You can watch me stagger across the line @ 4.43.31

Now on to London - where it looks as though it will be hotter than at Brighton (Oh No!!)

UPDATE 2; 01.04.10 – 98.6 miles in and 2 weeks to Brighton!!  £1,417.00 raised so far, supported by a very successful day selling Krispy Kreme doughnuts at work – 70 dozen sold in 3 hours!! (Thanks to all those who purchased)

Completed the Worthing 20 on 28.03 – the longest run in ‘the suit’ so far – a real eye opener for London.  I now realised just what I’ve committed to; perhaps it should be me that is committed!!  By the next time I write, if the wind’s in my favour, I should have completed 3 Marathons in 2 weeks.

Wish me luck – and please keep the sponsorship coming!!!  Thanks

UPDATE 1; 06.03.10 - Thanks to all who have sponsored me so far - I'm 40 miles in with the Eastbourne 1/2 tomorrow and so on track with my £10 p/mile target.  6 weeks to go until the tri-marathon fortnight and thanks to Elle @ Studio 57 (www.studio57clinic.co.uk) I'm in good shape!!  Maybe you'll spot me - please pass on my details; it's a great cause and all sponsorship is welcome!!

With the donation you make today, you’ll be supporting my pledge to raise £5000 by running 500 competitive miles in 2010 for dreams come true - http://www.dctc.org.uk/

Dreams Come True is based in Midhurst, West Sussex (30 minutes from my home). Every day a child suffering from a terminal or serious illness has a dream fulfilled through Dreams Come True, but with 25,000 UK children accessing palliative care services every year there are many more dreams to fulfil.

This year I'll be running 500 competitive miles to raise £5,000. I'll be running 3 marathons in 2 weeks - Brighton 18.04.10, London 25.04.10 and 3 Forts (27 miles) on 02.05.10, 13 1/2 Marathons and countless 10k's (all dressed as Captain America - pictures attached)!

Ewen
