Story
Hi,
On Sunday 1st November 2009, I’ll be slugging out a 20km (11 mile) race through what some would describe as a bog in order to raise money for the National Osteoporosis Society. For an idea of what it will involve have a look at the following website: http://www.hellrunner.co.uk/index.htm
For those of you who don't know, osteoporosis is a condition which causes fragile bones resulting in bones that are more easily broken and in extreme cases reduced mobility and other associated health problems. I thought it would therefore be a good idea to raise money for this cause and to try to break a few of my own bones in the process by doing this run!!
One past racer said "It was incredibly hard, and just when you think you've got to the end the crowd-lined 'bog of doom' is there to totally destroy your morale. By that point though you're so tired, upset and distressed you really don’t care" – So it sounds pretty straight forward really!!
I thought this wasn't enough of a challenge though, therefore if I reach my target of £200 then I'll also dress up as a devil in an outfit similar to the one at the top of the page.
I hope you feel that this event is a personal challenge and are able to sponsor me for this worthwhile cause. I would be happy to accept any donations of any value that people would like to give. You can donate either on the website (http://www.justgiving.com/runningtohell) which is very easy (I've even done this in case you were wondering so feel free to ask) or you can give the money directly to me as people did in times gone by. Either way your support would be fantastic!!
Thanks in advance,
Kevin
