Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor me online. On May 25th I will be attempting to run the Edinburgh marathon. This will be my 6th marathon but will almost certainly be my toughest challenge yet as the last one I ran was in 1994 which was quite a long time ago The tragic death of my niece Laura Fox (pictured on the left), in December 2007 has inspired me to put on my running shoes again to raise money for a very worthy cause Laura’s life was cut tragically short at the age of 17 by a rare form of cancer known as Ewing Sarcoma, which normally affects young people between the ages of 10 and 20. During the final months of her short life, Laura was cared for at home by her close family, during which time she also received the best possible medical care from the staff at Derian House, Children’s Hospice in Chorley, Lancashire. Derian House offers a lifeline for families with children that are diagnosed with a terminal illness, it helps to give them the strength to go on and is their means of survival through the darkest moments. To read more about the wonderful work that they do please go to www.derianhouse.co.uk
I am hoping to raise as much money as possible in Laura’s memory for Derian House to help with this very worthy cause and would appreciate any sponsorship that you feel able to give
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Derian House Childrens Hospice will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please sponsor me now!
Many thanks for your support.
