We 4 trustees of St. Albans and Hertsmere Women's Refuge Cathy, Rita, Emma & Seema with some loyal (crazy?) supporters and friends Amanda, Tracy, Karen, Jan and Rachel will be attempting the total length of the Laugavegur trail - a 5 day hike through the Icelandic wilderness.

It includes 6 to 10 hours hiking each day, to an altitude of over 1000m, through snow piles and gullies, wading through rivers and facing dark tuff mountains and glaciers.

We will be sleeping in tents at campsites along the way.  There are only basic amenities (at best), which might have thawed out by June.  Conditions will be snowy and isolated.
