The Marine Conservation Society is the UK charity dedicated to protecting our seas, shores and wildlife. We work to ensure that the rich wildlife of our seas can be restored, that fish stocks can recover and our beaches and bathing waters can become cleaner.

Story

Alex and I ran away to sea last year and are now facing the awesome prospect of a return crossing of the Atlantic. It is 3,600 miles of cold seas, huge waves, strong winds and even icebergs.

We're raising money for the Marine Conservation Society to say thank you for the experience of a year afloat. MCS (www.mcsuk.org) is helping to protect many species of fish and marine creature from overfishing and from pollution. It also helps to keep beaches sandy and free of plastic and other litter which can be really harmful to sea creatures.

We're hoping to raise as many pounds as possible, so please pledge your support. There are no shortcuts, so be sure to track our progress by visiting our blog at http://blog.mailasail.com/summersong.

Thanks
