Hi there lovely people!!!
Firstly, thank you so much for taking the time to visit our Justgiving page. For those of you who don't know us already we are Georgina and Samantha Emsley, a mother and daughter currently preparing to take on the challenge of hiking the Great Wall of China in aid of St Barnabas House. The event will see us trekking up to 9 hours a day for 5 days over watch-towers and mountains, through historic battlements and tackling the 1,000 steps at Mutinaya. Taking on sections of the Great Wall in remote areas many tourists never encounter we will be negotiating difficult terrain at vertiginous heights - all in the name of charity!
St Barnabas Hospice is a truly remarkable organisation providing an invaluable service to the local community by offering specialist palliative care to adults with cancer and other advanced progressive life-limiting diseases. Since opening in 1972 the hospice has cared for over 25,000 local people and offered emotional support and advice to countless families. With this in mind it is unsuprising that 37 years of use have taken their toll on the building and that St Barnabas House is now in need of drastic redevelopment. That’s where we come in. With your help we hope to raise vital funds for a new purpose-built facility that will allow the St Barnabas team to provide hospice care for local people throughout the 21st century and beyond.
All donations will be gratefully received, no matter how small. The cost of creating the new St Barnabas House will be £13.5 million so now more than ever it is vital that we raise awareness of this wonderful charity and come together to raise the funds to support the development project. The new hospice will be a landmark building and something that we can all be really proud of.
Show your support. Build a dream.
Thank-you,
Sam and Gina x
