Story

December 2009

Well we hauled ourselves up the three peaks and convinced lots of you to part with more cash, so thank you very much for that! At one point we thought we might be obliged to raise cash for mountain rescue next year, but thanks to the mountain goat types amongst us we made it up and down without incident.

A big thank you to all those involved with our other fundraising efforts too, especially to Karen B and her team for their cake baking prowess, and to Sam Lewis for washing all those cars for cash and not keeping any of it!

Thanks also to all of you who bought raffle tickets and participated in the auction at the end of Langar Boogie II. We raised best part of £3,000 from that alone.

We couldn't have done a lot of it without all of those that donated the prizes, time, effort, food, socks, plasters, diesel, mini bus etc etc... so a huge thank you to Skydive Langar, Buckminster Gliding Club, British Airways Flying School, Sainsbury's East Midlands, Memories to Treasure Yacht Charter, Boots the Chemist, Experian, Aumas Construction, Airkix, Air Supply, Road Safety UK, Xscape, Larsen & Brusgaard, Cotswold Camping, Sainsbury's, Charles Street Buildings, Thomas Sports, Safe Flight School, Sunshine Factory, Bodyflight Bedford, Tribe Bespoke Flight Apparel, Boogie Man, Symbiosis Suits, Aerodyne, Sonic, Langar Kart & Quad Centre, Bullet FreeFly, Shaggy's Bar, iZorb, Grantham Dramatic Society and The Boot and Shoe.

This page will stay open until the end of the year so please feel free to donate an extra pound or two for Christmas... ;)

Three Peaks Challenge in Memory of Sam

It's fast approaching a year since Sam died and to mark it (and raise some desperately needed funds for the Air Ambulance service) a few of us have decided to do something stupid and attempt to climb the three highest mountains in England, Scotland and Wales in 24 hours.

Myself (Sarah Bailey), Sian Stokes, Milko Hodgkinson, Conor Walker, Katie Woods, Cath Anderson, Alex Stone, Martine Howland, Leigh Birchenough, Ross Lambert and perhaps a few more will be attempting to scale Snowdon, Scafell Pike and Ben Nevis on 9 September 2009 with the support of Kieron O'Rourke, a mini bus, some Compeed and copious quantities of Kendal Mint Cake.

None of us are outrageously fit or particularly experienced at this sort of thing so it shan't be a gentle stroll in the park...

With that in mind we're asking everyone to help us raise at least our target total of £10,000. So please, in Sam's memory, dig as deep as you can to help keep this vital service running. Once you've done that send this link www.justgiving.com/sambaileyphoto to all your friends, colleagues, relations and bank managers... Make it your Facebook status, tweet it on Twitter or whatever floats your boat.

Everyone's generosity so far has been enormously appreciated but the more we raise the fuzzier we'll all feel at 3am in a cold Scottish crag!

Huge thanks,

Sarah x

September 2008:

There is very little I can say on here but thank you.

The Air Ambulance Crew were brilliant and did all they could for Sam. Sadly there was nothing any of us could do.

Please give what you can to this very important service that helps so many people.

Thank you,

Sarah.
