First things first, I'm not a runner.......the furthest I have ever ran is 800m (twice round the running track) and that was when I was at school. I would also add that I walked most of the way and was usually last!

Since January 2010, I've been out of the house at 6.30am before work to get some training in to be able to complete the 10km course.....

So why the Atrial Fibrillation Association (AFA)? When my husband Martin was diagnosed with Atrial Fibrillation at the age of 33, it changed our lives completely. The AFA provided us with much needed help, information and support, as they do for so many other people. Atrial Fibrillation (AF) is the most common heart rhythm disturbance and is thought to affect approximately 1.2 million people in the UK.

This is why I'm running the Jane Tomlinson York 10k to raise some much needed funds for the AFA who provide information, support and access to established, new or innovate treatments for AF.
