Story

During the month of September 2010, the Aussie X-Files Fans @ Facebook will be holding a Charity Fundraiser. In 2009 we successfully raised $5500 for "Off The Street Kids" and we'd like to show our ongoing support by participating in the Bridge to Brisbane 10km walk on August 29th 2010. Team members will be updated as more people come on board!

February 2010
Training has commenced!! Some of us walking over double the distance in a week!

March 2010
The start of March, Brisbane has been waterlogged! A huge weather system moving in and effecting outdoor training. Team members are planning on doing several large walks this month!

Naomi and Sandi have been tackling the hills around Holland Park/Mount Gravatt - hoping to find a hill that will be similar in steepness to the Gateway Bridge. For the record, Eyre Street Mt Gravatt East and Hoya Street Holland Park West are good hills for Bridge Practice!

April 2010
The training continues. Lots of hills in preparation for the Gateway Bridge. There are plans to do a smaller version of the Bridge to Brisbane walk from Hamilton through to the Royal Brisbane Hospital. Approximately 1/2 of the official walk just to get a feel of what the group is going to have to complete.

June 2010
Registration is now open. All members should be registered for the 10km Walk this month!

August 2010
The walk is at the end of the month. Please give what you can!  Nicole and Sandi did a HUGE training session that included a walk across the "Gateway Bridge" that is the "Bridge" portion of the "Bridge To Brisbane" - very excited about the event on Sunday 29th.

The AXF team managed to complete the 10km Bridge To Brisbane walk in a little over 2 hours. Congratulations!!!
