Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

As some of you may know, my eldest daughter Sophie was born with a congenital heart defect and suffers with a condition known as tetralogy of fallot.

This was diagnosed when Sophie was just a few weeks old by the cardiology team at Yorkhill hospital Glasgow. Since then Sophie has undergone two major operations to rectify some of the problems her condition can cause. Both have been a success and Sophie lives a happy and active life just the same as the next 4 year old.......

The care and support we have received from the cardiology team in Glasgow is always nothing short of excellent. They do an amazing job, fixing hearts and making sure so many children are able to lead a happy and healthy life.

Sophie visits her consultants around every six months to ensure she is developing and growing in the right way, she will require some further treatment in later years but for now everything is doing well.

Running a half marathon is nothing compared to the challenges that some of the kids at Yorkhill face and i hope to be able to do my bit and give something back. Money raised ensures that the cardiology team can continue to fix hearts which are not as they should be and provide the excellent care and support to not only the children but also the parents.

Any donation no matter how big or small will be greatly appreciated by not only myself, but the many children who visit the cardiology unit at Yorkhill Glasgow.
