Story
Hi there,
Welcome to our page!
Those of you who have the pleasure of knowing Sarah quite well will know last year one of her oldest and loveliest friends Angela McCarthy was having treatment for bowel cancer and Sarah ran (ok walked a bit) the london marathon 07 to raise some money for a charity called 'beating bowel cancer'.
After a brave fight Ange lost her battle to this nasty disease on 25 October 2007 and passed away in her sleep, leaving behind a loving husband, 2 small children aged 5 and 7, her sister/best mate, lovely dad and a close network of pals.
The lovely people at beating bowel cancer have been mad enough to grant Sarah one of their very limited charity golden bond places again for the 2008 London Marathon. Sarah has managed to persuade her lovely BOA ex workmate Emma after a couple of drinks in Fish one night to join her in her 2008 mission and the lovely chap at 'bowel cancer uk' has agreed to allow Emma a place to run for that charity. So we will both be running our little hearts out for bowel cancer charities in memory of a very special lady who is missed by everyone who knew her.
Bowel cancer causes almost 16.100 deaths in the UK every year, the average age is around 70 - Ange had only just celebrated her 39th birthday 2 wks before she passed away.
We appreciate a lot of you only sponsored Sarah last year and we feel quite bad asking you again, however not that bad - am sure we will get over it - so please dig deep, especially all you ICAP and Merrill Lynch employees who will go through our daily pain with us!!
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Beating Bowel Cancer will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
Training is already underway, all i can say on this front is Paula - watch out my luv - the ex bank of america girls are out to smash your record!! er anyway...
Lasty, please be aware any donations will be split 50/50 between 'beating bowel cancer' and 'bowel cancer uk' - its all for bowel cancer and its all for charity mate!!
So please sponsor us now - dont be shy!!
Many thanks for your support.
Sarah 'Marathon veteran' Bruce and Emma 'I used to be a personal trainer you know' Williams xxxx
