Story

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.

My mum sadly passed away on the 18th July 2008, aged 57.  I feel extremely grateful to all of the staff at the Cynthia Spencer hospice who made my mum's last few days a much more bearable experience for all of my family. The care my mum received made her passing alot easier for not just me but all of my family. I can not speak highly enough of each and every memeber of staff who looked after my mum. They allowed her to pass away peacefully, without pain and above all else with her dignity.

My mum's sister Mary Mooney and her partner Pat are doing a sponsored walk up Ben Lomond on the 19th August 2008 in my mum's memory to raise money for the Cynthia Spencer Hospice. We have already managed to raise money from people donating to the hospice rather then sending flowers at my mother's funeral. But this site allows us to reach a much bigger target of people to help raise much needed funds for a very worthy cause.

Mary and Pat successfully completed their walk at Ben Lomond on Tuesday 19th August. They raised the sum of £817 and would like to thank the following people:

Jim Younger (Margaret's Brother) and his colleagues at Job Plus

Janette Baird, family and friends

Staff at Glenwood Campus, Castlemilk

Last but by no means least the staff at Torbrae Care Home.

I would like to thank Mary and Pat for their fantastic efforts and all the money they have raised for the hospice. The 7 plus hour walk was worth it in the end, despite the blisters and sore feet!!

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The Cynthia Spencer Charitable Trust gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

Thank you for your support.
