Story

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor me online.

If you donate via this site it is simple, secure and fast. The charity,  Friends Of The Citizens Foundation, will receive the money directly rather then you having to send me cheques. In addition, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% will be added onto the gift from the government at no cost to you.

Friends of the Citizens Foundation (FTCF) is a UK registered charity (no. 1087864, www.FTCF.org.uk) which builds and then maintains schools for underprivalidged children in Pakistan in the most impoverished parts of the country. Importantly they aim to educate the children in a non-descriminatory gender balanced education and encourage the employment of females. They have so far built and run 224 schools and aims to educate about 300,000 children.

When the tragic earthquake hit Northern Pakistan on 8th October 2005, the charity helped provide immediate relief  (food, tents, blankets and 3 field hospitals) to over 30,000 earthquake survivors. Now they are planning to construct 5,000 permanent homes in a longer-term reconstruction effort.(each home costs about £4000 so I hope to raise enough for half).

It is an amazing charity, having done some fantastic work already and hopefully lots more. Please sponsor me now! Many thanks for your support.
