Story
On the 22nd of April I will be undertaking the mammoth task of running 26 miles around the streets of London. Those of you who know me well and are familiar with the abuse my body has taken over the last 15 years of "adult" life, will appreciate that completion of this event in itself will be a miracle.........
I am running the marathon in order to raise money for the NSPCC. This is a charity that the company I work for, Currell Residential, have been actively supporting for the last decade, so many of you visiting this page will be familiar with the work that they do and may have donated previously to this worthy cause. That however is no excuse for not digging deep this time!
Founded in 1884 the NSPCC was set up to protect children from cruelty, support vulnerable families, campaign for changes to the law and raise awareness about abuse. Today, the NSPCC looks very different, but its purpose remains the same: to end cruelty to children.
Working with children and their families the NSPCC have 177 community-based projects and run the Child Protection Helpline and ChildLine in the UK and the Channel Islands. They also work to achieve cultural, social and political change - influencing legislation, policy, practice, public attitudes and behaviour and delivering services for the benefit of young people.
Like all charities they are in great need of your support and your money, so please sponsor me now and you will make a difference.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: NSPCC will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
Many thanks for your support.
