I wanted to do something in memory of lost family and friends and support a local charity at the same time.  Rowcroft carry out fantastic work around Torbay and South Devon and will no doubt have touched the lives of many.

Inspired by both the Olympics and Para-Olympics I signed up as one of 3000 to ride the Dartmoor classic sportive cycle on 23rd June 2013, along with my father-in-law, Brian, and 2nd-cousin-in-law, Rob.

We've been in training since October 2012 and clocked up over 1000 miles up to April 2013 (Follow my training here!); The 100+km (68miles) classic is quite a beast with 6,500 feet of climbing (quite a challenge for a choco-wine-oholic!).  I'm also hoping my new baby son doesn't decide to arrive on the 23rd as he's currently due 2 days later, might make me pedal a bit faster.
