We fund research into type 1 diabetes to find a cure for type 1 diabetes

Story

Thankyou for visiting Scotty's Justgiving page.

We were, to put it bluntly, chuffed to bits to raise over £2000 last year for the JDRF. We started with simple goals, and achieved so much more.

But it is NOT ENOUGH.

Scott still goes through exactly the same rigours and trials he did last year, and the year before that. He still has days when his blood sugar appears uncontrolable. He still has the frightening prospect of complications when he is older, and he is completely unaware of this fact.

For Scott's BBC videonation film, go here:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/bristol/content/articles/2007/10/04/vn_diabetes_video_feature.shtml

This year there have been announcements of medical research that is bringing back possible results. For Scotty and the thousands like him, we will be doing our part to make sure the research is funded as well as it can be.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor him: Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor him now!

Many thanks for your support.

Team Scotty

PS - Bruce Baxter you massochist - thanks for dedicating your half-ironman to the cause. You are a star, bro.

[Look at that - we ran out of space for team members! I will be adding more down here!

Cant forget our stormtroopers and allies at the UK Garrison - they made the walk last year - everybody loved them. THEY WILL BE HERE! Matt Kingston wil lbe turning up - worth it just to see him. Leanne is with Phil, of course. My cousin Claire will be there.]
