We pioneer life-saving cancer research to help us beat cancer

Story

LANDS END to JOHN O'GROATS
16-30th May 2009

I cycled LEJOG to raise money to beat cancer, which can affect any of us at the most unexpected of times. When I was cycling in South Africa last year - the Cape Argus Pick 'n Pay ride with 35,000 other cyclists - Miranda's cancer was diagnosed

A two week cycling holiday became a two month medical stay in Cape Town before we could return home following emergency surgery. Miranda has been having chemotherapy in Derriford Hospital, Plymouth since then where she has had wonderful care at all levels.

I would like to help by contributing to the continuation of the research that has helped us through this difficult time

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It's also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Cancer Research UK gets your money faster and, if you're a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

You can see an illustrated light-hearted collection of doggerel verses composed daily during the LEJOG ride at www.beagle.org.uk under LEJOG ditty.

The total journey of 1030 miles was completed on Saturday 30th May, after 15 days cycling, much of it in rain. Last couple of days the sun finally emerged in the Highlands.)

Thanks so much to my ever-widening band of supporters! You are all stars.  The Cairngorms and the Grampians were nothing compared with the hills of Devon and Cornwall...
