Charity Cycle Challenge!

Hi all,

Chris, Dave, Tim and myself are taking part in a cycling challenge this Summer, to raise awareness of, and money for, SANDS.

We will begin our challenge in St Malo on Sunday 15 July, from here we will cycle as a relay team for 3 days to Geneva. During this time we will be covering 150 miles per day between us. (Likely to increase as we get lost in the French countryside!).

From Geneva, the challenge becomes a lot tougher as we will be cycling through the Alps to Nice for 5 days. We are expected to cover between 50-80 miles each and will be cycling stages of ther Tour de France including Col de Telegraphe (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Col_du_T%C3%A9l%C3%A9graphe) and the monster that is Col de Galibier (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Col_du_Galibier).

As many of you know, we are not cyclists so this will be a real test for us both physically and mentally.

This trip is also self funded, therefore 100% of the money raised goes straight to the charity!

For those of you in Guernsey, please feel free to shout words of encouragement or beep your hooters when you see us out training. You will identify us as the ones with all the gear, and certainly no idea!
