Story
Thank you for visiting our website.
You will now be aware that we achieved our goal and reached Uhuru Peak on Kilimanjaro on 11 October 2008. It was one of the hardest physical things we have done and the effects climbing at high altitude should not be under estimated.
Thank you everyone so far who has donated both on and off line to Neurocare. You can still donate both on and off line.
Neurocare is a groundbreaking local charity, which raises money for the neurosciences department at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital in Sheffield .
Neurocare buys equipment to save and improve the lives of patients with a range of debilitating neurological conditions, including brain tumours, strokes, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s Disease, Motor Neurone disease and Epilepsy.
Neurocare has grown massively over the last three years, following its highly successful, £500,000 Brainwave Appeal. The appeal bought three 3D ultrasound scanners for the neurosurgery operating theatres at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital and Sheffield Children’s Hospital. The cutting edge scanners are mainly used to help treat people with brain tumours and are a UK first.
Based on a fun and vibrant ethos, Neurocare funds a range of pioneering projects so the charity can support a wider group of patients who are all battling debilitating illnesses.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Neurocare gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
