Story
In 2002
my Aunty Kay was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer. She told me that nothing focuses the mind more than a life threatening disease. You get to appreciate what is important and what isn't. And you get on with your life and deal with it as best as you can. And she does. In fact her vitality and selflessness is truly humbling and she is an inspiration to me, my family and many others.
Frightening fact
1 in 3 people in the UK will suffer from Cancer!
Running 26.2 miles
challenges both your mind and body. From when you count off your first mile to those last hellish ones. One minute you're riding high on adrenalin, the next sinking with exhaustion, all your mental and physical strength driving you to keep going. Running a marathon is my way of saying that I am thinking about my Aunty Kay and what she and all Cancer sufferers have to go through every day.
Help the hospices
offer care to 250,000 terminally ill adults and children every year to live life to the full, which is a pretty good reason to support them.
Donating through this site is easy and secure and if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added at no additional cost to you.
Also if you are around on the day i'll buy you a pint. Can't say fairer than that.
Thank you, and do leave me a message.
Richard
