Story
I ran and I ran till I could no more and by jove I DID IT amd I loved every wonderful horrible minute of it! With all your encouraging words and prayers I conquered my gruelling challenge!...I finished in 4.15 Nike + time and 4.25 FLM time! ... I cried for hours at the finish line-in disbelief, joy and severe pain! - but impossible is nothing just keep the faith!
THANKS SO SO MUCH TO ALL OF YOU...theres still time to donate to my gorgeous charity! xxxx
... after breaking the bones in my Pelvis (Inferior Ramus Bone!) during last years intensive training regime for the Marathon.... guess what - I'M BACK !!
It just goes to show though, how harsh the training can be let alone The London Marathon itself!
I'm prepared to take on this physical and mental onslaught to raise money for my stupendous charity-HELP the AGED
OMIGOD! here I am pursuing my biggest, fattest challenge yet...Aaaaarh!
The full darn whammy! THE FLORA LONDON MARATHON - all gruelling 26.2 Miles of it!
I'm a once upon a fat girl thats attempting to run a Marathon rather than eat one (or even three) for a change!! *tehehe* I think its going to be a real toughie and I'm daunted by it at the moment!...but I believe in myself and I know I will no doubt get through smiling! :-)
As mentioned, I intend to raise vital monies for Help the Aged, a charity that in my mind is extremely neglected. In most cases fundraising efforts are targeted towards either disease charities or children’s charities which in their own right are fantastic causes, however I feel in consideration of the work this charity does it is still very under rated.
It is inevitable that we all get old and we all hope for a long, happy and prosperous life...It’s charities like HtA that make this possible for those vulnerable older people in society, not only in the UK but worldwide.
Worlwide, Help the Aged is also part of the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) and are currently committed to helping over 60,000 older people in Gaza, who face an even greater struggle to survive as the medicine and health services they depend upon fail to get through.
Their lack of mobility means that they can be isolated and unable to migrate to safer areas. As their own children look for ways out or fall victim to the conflict, they could also be the sole carers of grandchildren.
Help the Aged, is one of 13 leading humanitarian aid agencies which make up the DEC. The agencies come together during times of international emergencies to deliver aid to those most in need.
I am taking this challenge not just as my own personal conquest but for my family too, who have been behind me all the way. This ones especially dedicated to the memory of my mum n dad ...it would have been such a privilege to have seen them live to a happy old age.
I've shed a lotta pounds now (189 pounds!!-I'll show you before pictures to scare you into sponsoring me!) This is the greatest distance that I've ever runAll I need is all you lovely people to part with some of your pennies pounds or dollars or anything monetary for Help The Aged!
PLEASE go on, dig deep, give as little or as much as you can to keep me motivated, and to raise those funds for a remarkable charity!....
PLEASE pass my justgiving address to ALL your friends and family too!
Thanks so much from the bottom of heart and the tips of tippy toes!
