Dogs For The Disabled- Trek Machu Picchu · 12 September 2009 ·

We support individuals, families, and groups with complex health and social care needs, often due to disability, dementia, autism or mental ill health. The support we and our dogs provide enables them to better access the world around them.

Story

Well, it's confirmed.  We have met the minimum needed, paid in our contribution, had the jabs (urgh!!!!!) and are now trying to lose weight and get fit.  We are going to Peru......

Thanks to everyone who has sponsored us online or offline, bought raffle tickets or bid for prizes in our auctions.

But it's not stopping, so please continue to give as much as you can to help such a wonderful charity.

In 2006 we raised over £15,000 for Cancerbackup by walking 100km of the Great Wall of China.

In 2009, we will be walking the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu in Peru, raising money for Dogs for the Disabled.

Dogs for the Disabled creates life-changing partnerships by training assistance dogs to help disabled people lead a fuller, more independent life. Every assistance dog trained by the charity offers practical help to the people they support. Their work with physically disabled adults opens doors to independence, giving a new sense of confidence and freedom, often long forgotten.

Our aim, to raise as much as possible, hopefully even more than before, so please, help us to raise money for such a worthwhile cause as all of the money you donate will go straight to Dogs for the Disabled.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor us: Dogs For The Disabled gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

And congratulations to everyone who won one of 15 bottles of wine in our raffle.  Enjoy.
