A friend & I will undertake a 12.5 mile, midnight charity walk in July to raise funds for Scannappeal which supports the MRI scanner in Bucks.  This may not seem like much of a challenge for you folk who regularly scale the three peaks or run marathons for fun, but for two middle-aged and knackered mums, it's a bit of a test.  Staying up past 10pm is challenge enough, never mind the walk!

My friend has a young son who was diagnosed with a brain tumour.  The doctors operated immediately but the nature of the tumour means that it will re-grow and he will face further surgery.  He therefore will be seeing the inside of this scanner very frequently.

I know this probably isn't the first request you've had this year, but it's the first request you've ever had from me.  Before you dismiss my appeal for support, consider that it is only in our darkest hour that we have need for equipment like this.
