Thanks for visiting my fundraising page. This will be my third marathon and second at London, in  April 2006 I couldn't run for a bus without being seriously out of breath, back then I was a smoker. In 07 I completed London in 70 degrees heat in 5hr35mins, In 08 I completed Dublin marathon in 4hrs 39mins and enjoyed it much more for not having smoked for nearly two years, I am aiming to knock another chunk off London 09's time. Why I got hooked on smoking I'll never know, my dad suffered with breathing disorders his whole life, he'd had pluracy, TB and not long after retiring he developed emphysema which he fought for as long as he could, he never gave in to the disease, just kept finding different ways to keep doing things, he never complained and never gave up on life, as sick as he got he was always a pleasure to have around. Dad was able to have a better quality of life through medicines and machines that helped his condition - I am running for British Lung Foundation for the work they do which helps people with lung disorders including cancer have a better quality of life.
