Story

Thanks for visiting our fundraising page.

Firstly, please remember this is being done as a SURPRISE for Sharon and Steve following Sharon's wish of donations to Kings College Neurology Unit instead of receiving Wedding Gifts.

For those of you who aren't aware just how much poor Sharon went through, here is a little explanation. Sharon returned to work recently following a life threatening Aneurysm which causes swelling of blood vessels in the brain. Without sounding too morbid the mortality rate of this illness is quite high and those who do make it  often suffer with severe disability. So from this you can see just  how strong and lucky Sharon has been.

Sharon is a well respected and much loved colleague and friend of all of ours. Personally speaking Sharon is one of the nicest people i have ever met and feel very lucky for her to be part of my working life and her illness and recovery has touched my heart dearly.

Now onto the happy part... Sharon is due to marry Steve on the one year anniversary of her operation on 4th July 2009.

Sharon mentioned that instead of wedding gifts, she would like money to be donated to the Kings College Neurology Unit instead. So i thought it would be a great idea to set up a Justgiving page for this cause.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to donate and if you’re a UK taxpayer (like we are), Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please donate. Lets help other people who have and will go through similar in the future.
