Story
Its that time of year again and the Sherlock family will be donning our Santa suits for the 4th year running in the annual Great Ormond Street Santa Dash.
If you know our son Jasper you will know what a friendly, enthusiastic and happy little chap he is.
Jasper’s treatment at GOSH is ongoing, and he is under the neurosurgical and neurology teams to manage his epilepsy and other complications. But Jasper won’t let it stop him from joining the rest of the family to take on the London Santa Dash for GOSH this December, our fourth year running as Team Sherlock!
We are utterly indebted to the skill, care and compassion of all at Great Ormond Street & the ongoing treatment he receives. Jasper will be benefiting from cutting edge research & technology when he undergoes a surgical assessment on Koala Ward in the near future. Despite being on anti-epileptic medicines Jasper continues to have troublesome seizures and is therefore being considered for epilepsy surgery to remove the underlying cause of the seizures.
In addition to this kind of innovative surgery, here’s what your donation could help fund:
£35 could pay for one night's stay in family accommodation.
£97 could fund a day's production of specialist cells, which researchers are using to develop new treatments to help cure children with Duchenne muscular dystrophy.
£108 could fund a member of the multi-faith chaplaincy team for a day, providing spiritual care and support.
£130 could pay for everything a play team member needs for one day of play, vital for child development, wellbeing and recovery.
