Help us go the extra mile
When it comes to supporting salons, the team here at Shortcuts always gives it their best. It’s a philosophy that permeates everything we do, which is why we’ve called in ultra runner Stuart Rose, a man who has run more than 50 marathons, to train a group of us for the Manchester 10K in May and help raise thousands for the HAIRraising appeal.
Ultra runners are renowned for the immense distances they run, and while none of us is likely to challenge Stuart’s record of 100 miles in 24 hours, we’ll all be giving 100% effort, and are asking you to back us by donating to the appeal.
Some of us have never run before, and we only have until Sunday 16 May to prepare, but Stuart is confident that, with the help of a fast-track training regime, he will get us all through. He says: “It’s all about getting into the mindset, and getting into regular training a few nights a week. I’m going to set a schedule and, hopefully, working together, the Shortcuts team will get into shape and manage the run easily.”
HAIRraising, the industry’s fundraising appeal, was launched by John Frieda to raise £1 million towards the cost of new operating theatres at Great Ormond Street and is currently recruiting thousands of hairdressers, all of whom will invite customers to add £1 to their bill in aid of the appeal.
So, with salons asking their clients to make a donation, we thought we could do the same and ask all our clients to back the campaign. This is an amazing charity appeal and we wanted to get behind it 100 per cent.
If you can give £10, or even £5, to support our efforts, together we can raise thousands of pounds for HAIRraising.
