Each year Microsoft gives its employees 3 days to volunteer for charitable causes.  This year Karl and I would like to use one of our days to cycle from our office in Victoria to Brighton to raise money for the Elizabeth Foundation's Raise the Roof appeal.

A year ago my sister's daughter Katie was born, unfortunately she was diagnosed as being profoundly deaf.  The Elizabeth Foundation is a pre-school for deaf children and their parents who have been extremely supportive of my sister, her husband and Katie.

The Raise the Roof appeal is to raise £2m which will double the size of the Family Centre in which future generations of deaf children will be helped to develop great listening skills, spoken language and a love and appreciation of music.
