Story
Simon Kolesar and Laurence Johnstone's "Jump" for Charity
Many thanks for visiting our fundraising page.
On 2nd September we took part in our tandem skydive and parachute jump with the Red Devils, the Parachute Regiment’s Freefall Team, above Langar Airfield in Nottinghamshire.
This was an amazing experience, jumping out of an aeroplane at a height of 13,000 feet, accelerating to 120 mph within 10 seconds and freefalling for 45 seconds followed by a 5 minute "glide" back to ground level. The weather conditions were near perfect, with sun and a few clouds.
Some action photos from our day are on the lower left hand side of this page - click on the thumbnails to enlarge the images.
This was a memorable day for both of us in many ways. We recommend the experience to anyone who is prepared to frighten themselves pretty severely but is willing to "give it a go" under the supervision of the best in the business.
For those who have already donated so generously we thank you sincerely. Your response has been fantastic. You can be certain that your support is appreciated enormously by the charities we are supporting.
For those who have yet to donate and who would now like to to do so, it's not too late - just click on the "Sponsor Us Now" link above.
We are doing this to raise money for three highly deserving charities:
- The Chartered Surveyors' Charitable Trust Bursary Fund - 50%
- The Transverse Myelitis Society - 25%
- The Chelsea Pensioners Appeal - 25%
Please help us raise funds by sponsoring us now! Giving via Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor us; our chosen charities get your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
Please note: for administrative reasons all donations will be initially paid to the Chartered Surveyors' Company Charitable Trust which will then transfer 50% of all funds raised in equal shares to the Transverse Myelitis Society and the Chelsea Pensioners Appeal.
Further information about the three charities that we are supporting may be found at
