The photograph is of my youngest, Emily. She has an older sister, Elizabeth, who is seven, Emily has just turned four. They are happy and have the good fortune to be born in the UK where they have two parents that love them and will do anything for them. They have the luxury of good health and education. Hopefully they will never have to live in a world that is in constant war, or famine. They will never be given a gun in their hands and expected to kill or be killed, become war prisoners or victims of war.
Yet in some countries this is a fact of life. Children are draughted, killed, they lose their families and become orphans for some political or religious ideal. War Child is trying to protect these children. They are the innocent victims of war. They may never have the life of Elizabeth or Emily. However by donating to War Child these children may have a chance at being children.
