Story

This event is a sponsored yacht race from Chichester Bar around the NAB Tower and back (12 nautical miles), designed to raise funds for ST WILFRID’S HOSPICE. This is a charity race with a difference. The skipper of the boat you are being asked to support has already made a significant contribution to the charity in the form of an entry fee. You can add to this by pledging a fixed sum (however small), which will help your chosen skipper’s chances of success in the race. He will add up all the pledges he and his crew receive and make an overall pledge of the total to the organisers on the day before the race. The Race Officer will then multiply the racing points the skipper achieves on the day by the amount he has pledged, to give an overall points score. The more you contribute the better the chances of your skipper winning the race!
