Hi, a group of  CSC's mainframe support team have undertaken to participate in the

  Dartmoor Challenge event

We have agreed to undertake a 10 mile hike on Dartmoor followed by an overnight wild camp with a 25 mile bike ride the next day. We also have a few challenges to complete along the way! 

The team is called the Z-Team (a sort of mainframe pun) all the team members are over 45  so our challenge is to get around and show the younger teams we can stick in there! The team consists of Colin Reynolds, Martin Elton, Phil Roberts, Dave Hartland and myself.

I have been a long fan of the great outdoors and strongly support the D.O.E. award's aims of developing young people through outdoor pursuits and community projects etc. I think this is going to be a major challenge for me, especially the cycling as I haven't done any serious cycling for some years. I am using this event to encourage me to lose some weight and get a little fitter. Personally I think its great that this charity gets kids away from computer games and into the countryside!
