Flora London Marathon 2009 · 26 April 2009 ·

Stephanie Moore MBE set up the Bobby Moore Fund in partnership with Cancer Research UK, following the death of her husband, Bobby Moore, from bowel cancer. The Bobby Moore Fund is now a leader in the fight against bowel cancer, funding research that’s helping more people to survive than ever before.

Story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.  I am running my first ever marthon next year and have been lucky enough to get a place in the London Marathon.    I am raising money for two charities that mean a lot to me WaterAid and the Bobby Moore Fund.

So why did i choose the Bobby Moore Fund?     My dad, Alan Parsons passed away in September this year at the age of 66 as a result of having bowel cancer and i would like to raise some money for cancer research in in his memory.  Dad is pictured here with my daugher Holly and was a great dad and grandad and is sorely missed.

Details of the my WaterAid page can be found at http://www.justgiving.com/simonparsonswateraid  - if you are undecided why not split your donation between the two.

Well I am nearly there.  Ive ran 430 miles since January  training for the 26.2 ive got to do next week.  Looking forward to the event so keep your eyes on the television!

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Bobby Moore Fund for Cancer Research UK gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please sponsor me now!
