dogs for disabled · 26 May 2009

We support individuals, families, and groups with complex health and social care needs, often due to disability, dementia, autism or mental ill health. The support we and our dogs provide enables them to better access the world around them.

Story

Well - we've done it!!  Forty-six of us completed Dogs for the Disabled's 'Trek Machu Picchu' Challenge (12th - 21st September).  Much tougher than any of us expected!

Having heard some of the very personal stories of the other trekkers whose wives/siblings/family members already have an assistance dog, I remain committed to reach my personal target of £4,500 to fund the training of a puppy to become an assistance dog for either a disabled adult, a disabled child or a child with autism.

Please take a moment to read some of the case studies at www.dogsforthedisabled.org/partnerships & learn more about how these remarkable dogs literally change lives.

Please sponsor me now and help transform somebody's life today!  We have earned EVERY penny!

(Note: unlike many of our MPs... I have paid all my costs- £1,500 - for flights, accom, trek guide etc, to ensure ALL donations from friends & family will go directly to the charity to train puppies!)

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Dogs For The Disabled gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
