Thank
you kind hearted soul; please understand that what follows is our touching
story of a high flying, free falling, safe landing (hopefully), triumph against
adversity in the name of bringing a smile to a child’s face that will last a
lifetime. You may cry, you may even find the urge to risk your own life for
this cause but one thing you must do is dig deep and make it happen.
The
death defying feat
5
crazy Synovators and Lauren’s mad step-dad are to leap/be pushed out of a plane
at 12 000 ft; not only that but they will have added weight in the form of a
“professional sky diver” to ensure the final impact will send shockwaves around
the Earth. Masquerading as a Tandem Sky Dive on 1
st August 2010
these brave/crazy “volunteers” will be doing this in the name of Synovate’s
chosen charity, Noah’s Ark Hospice.
A
just cause
Why
would 12 people risk their lives for Noah’s Ark hospice? Well 6 of them will be
being paid to strap someone to their front and hurtle to the ground. The other
6 know that this local, vibrant charity; committed to providing practical,
medical or emotional support to around 350 life-limited children and their
families, within the communities of South Hertfordshire and North London, is
worth signing a waiver form and hoping for the best.
The
community outreach service begins working in the homes of families, or the
hospice building, providing positive play experiences or even days out for the
child (and their siblings) and giving parents a break from their caring
responsibilities. Please take a moment to see what this charity is all about;
you will soon come to realise why it’s worth risking a life or 6 for:

Dig
deep
Our
foolhardy adventurers will be digging deep and testing their mettle, not
because they have to but because they want to make an impact – preferably a
positive financial one rather than a dent in the Earth.
Noah’s
Ark Hospice receive no financial backing from Government, so in order to
develop services, reach out to more families and expand further afield they
rely on the generosity/insanity of supporters.
If
putting your life on the line is just a step too far for a good cause in your
eyes then please, support those who are and be charitable by proxy to this good
cause and help raise funds
to sustain a much needed
service for those who do not have the gift of time. A donation*, however large
or small (preferably big), helps small charities such as this make a real
difference to so many families in their time of need.
Please
dig deep and donate now.
The
oath of 6 madmen
If
you help us raise a substantial amount of money it will encourage/force us to
make that important jump out of the plane, when what we really want to do is
cling to the railings and wait for a smooth pilot landing! Each and every
one of us promise to jump and complete this fund raising event with a bang
(well, hopefully not literally!). So that you can be sure we didn’t back out
please think of the following:
The guilt of backing out
would be too great to bearLauren’s scream will be
heard throughout the world as she plummets. So on that fateful day when
mirrors crack and glass shatters you will know that we have done the just
and right thing… we pushed Lauren out first!
Synovate’s pledge
The
target is £2500 and Jill Tellford, CEO of Synovate UK, to show the company’s
support of this great charity, has pledged £1000 towards the fundraising
efforts of the three major charity events we are running this year: Sky-novate
Dive, Three Peaks Challenge and London Rat Race - watch this space!
Many,
many thanks for your support – it is greatly appreciated!
Lauren
and the Sky-novate Dive Team =)
