Story
Greetings!
The rather foolish Alex Slade and Nick Jeffrey have deemed it a "good idea" to put themselves through potential hell in order to raise a few bucks for a good cause. The Kindrochit Quadrathlon is a day-long mission around Loch Tay in bonnie Scotland involving the following:
1500m swim across Loch Tay to start the day at 7am, a 24km run across 7 Munroes (tall Scottish mountains), then an 11km kayak along the Loch followed by a 54km bicycle around it to complete the event.
We're hoping, provided that the training doesn't finish us off first, to complete this in under 11 hours - so quite a mission!
We're also trying to get cash out of you for an amazing charity called Success After Stroke.
Success After Stroke is a tiny charity run by a small group of dedicated people, including Alex’s mother, which provides support, care, rehabilitation and general advice both to those who have suffered a stroke, and also to their carers.
Success After Stroke looked after Alex's father when he was very ill and he is eternally grateful to them for the amazing support and love that they showed. It’s an incredibly tough job, but one that's undertaken with incredible care, and is currently run on a shoestring budget.
SAS really is one of those charities that will put every penny of extra funding that we can raise directly towards its members and will have a huge impact on the amount of help that it can offer. Anything you can give - be it £1, £10, whatever - will make a marked difference.
You can also keep an eye on our training and make sure we're putting the miles in by going to our own website where there are photos and videos of what we've been getting up to - http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=31763377376
Donating through this site is the most efficient way to sponsor us: the charities will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to our kind donors. So please sponsor us now!
All the best,
Alex and Nick
