We are a team of 10 cyclists (Smiley's People) who will be completing a road cycling "marathon" of 106 miles from Nevill Holt, Leicestershire to Burnham Deepdale, Norfolk on Saturday 1st May as part of The Century Cycle Challenge.

We have chosen The Smile Train to be our nominated charity as our team organiser James C along with his youngest daughter Alice were both born with a cleft lip and palate.  Fortunately they have both benefited from excellent treatment and care provided by the NHS.  Regrettably in third world countries babies born with such birth defects are not so lucky.  However, The Smile Train is a wonderful charity which can increase the chances of these children receiving appropriate medical attention and receiving the plastic surgery that will change their lives.  As little as £150 will fund an operation.  To get a much clearer idea of the great job they do and the fantastic results achieved please visit their website: www.smiletrain.org.uk/
