Story
Welcome to our fundraising website. Mark & I are currently training for the Le Salle Chicago marathon in aid of Macmillan Cancer support. As you can see we are hoping to raise £5000 for Macmillan and any sponsorship you give will go directly to help in their support for people living with cancer.
In 2006 my dad died of lung cancer after fighting the disease for a number of years. Macmillan were fantastic in their support and were instrumental in helping him fulfil his final wish of dying at home with his family around him. They provided 24/7 home care, co-ordinated all the necessary medical equipment needed to keep dad comfortable and pain free and provided invaluable advise and support throughout the term of his illness.
Thus, why one overweight nearly forty year old and one ex-smoking couch potato are taking on the challenge of the Chicago marathon and dragging themselves 26.2 miles around the streets of one of Americas biggest cities.
As part of our fundraising efforts to date we have done a number of car boot sales and a charity car wash. We also plan to run a family beach day and a race night and with your help we want to ensure we reach our fundraising target.
If, like us you feel this is a great cause, please dig deep and donate as much as you can. Every penny will make a real difference to those living with Cancer.
Thanks
