Hi there my name is Sophie, I am visually impaired amongst other issues. I have wanted to do this for quite a while, to raise money for the charities that have changed my life. So where do I start with Blind Children UK and how they have helped me? Before I started receiving their help I was depressed and highly anxious and had recently dropped out of school due to an accident at school. I have since been home educated. I got in contact with Blind Children UK because well I had no skills to cope with life. I require my mums help on a regular basis. 

Receiving help from Blind Children UK not only helped me gain life skills but help me gain some confidence back. To learn being visually impaired is not the worst thing in the world. Who cares if people have an issue with it, thats their problem! I have learnt so many valuable skills, like how to cook my favourite meals to the best of my ability. 

Whilst I may still rely on my mum quite a bit still, I can take charge for example when I go out I can take charge.

Without Blind Children UK I wouldn't have become who I am. I would still be floundering, no skills to live. 

A recent study from Blind Children Uk revealed that it is an almost post code lottery as to whether children receive the much needed help from Blind Children UK.

As you can probably tell Blind Children UK, like its sister charity Guide Dogs, receives no government funding. So everything they do is through fundraising just like this. So if you could donate it would be much appreciated. 

I am going on a wheelchair climb over the 02 with my dad and brother. So wish us luck!
