We’re the UK’s leading charity for Crohn’s and Colitis. Right now, over 500,000 people in the UK are living with a lifelong disease that many people have never heard of. We’re working to improve diagnosis and treatment; to fund research and to raise awareness.

Story

On Wednesday the 28th September I reached Machu Picchu after successfully completing the Inca Trail in Peru in aid of The National Association for Colitis and Crohn's Disease (NACC).

The trek was hard, much harder than I thought it would be, but after blisters, altitude sickness, tears (mine), lost toenails (not mine thankfully), long days of walking and thousands of Inca steps the whole trekking party completed the trek.

The NACC is a cause personal to me as in June 2003, following his diagnosis with Crohns Disease and a number of related operations, I lost my Dad. He was 66. He would think I was crazy but would be very proud.

Thank you to everyone who sponsored me, it really means a lot to me and The NACC and would have meant a lot to Dad.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The NACC will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you. Thanks again, Sophie. xxxxxxxxx
