Story

Hi All

Well the jailbreak was on Monday and all teams did really well.

Our team managed to head direct to a pub for a team meeting to decide on the ultimate destination, after a quick check of the internet the weather in the South West appeared to be far better than Scotland and after a short stop at 10 Downing Street we made our way towards Plymouth

We made use of trains, police vans and even a shopping trolley as transport, we did have a combine harvester lined up for the Tuesday but due to train problems this was knocked on the head

I have raised just under £1600.00 towards Bosom Pals Appeal which is great especially considering the original target was a mear £500.

Thanks to all those who have taken part, assisted, supported me and those who have sponsored me with this event.

Thanks

Chris

Today is the day for the Jail Break to begin from Southend. Come on you guys and lasses - you can do it.

We would like to thank everyone for all their support in connection with the event and to all those who have kindly sponsored/donated money.

There is now less than a month to the event and our team still have no fixed plans, I know that some teams have it all organsied.

We have several ideas and some great photo locations in the pipe line.

Though i've now reached my original target of £500 this was set before the bad news that there is no further treatment available for my mum as such the sky is now the limit and i'm nearing the magical £1000 mark but i'd like to exceed that by a huge amount.

So please please sponsor me, even a small amount will make a big difference.

Thanks

Chris

Further to the below - The jailbreak is now taking shape with 6 teams and 20 people taking part, there is the proise from some companies that people will be travel to far flung places.

However my family have had some very sad news in that the Hospital has said there is nothing further that can be done for my Mum and she is no longer on treatment drugs, just painkillers, We dont know how long she has left, but are making the most of what we have, each day is a real bonus.

Please sponsor me for this great cause and Bosom Pals will be able to purchase a new machine to help with the early detection of cancer and prevent other having to go through this situation.

Steer clear of Southend police station – there’s going to be a jailbreak.

But it won’t be thieves and drunks fleeing the cells, just 17 police officers and friends who will be raising money for Southend Hospital.

They aim to get as far from Southend as they can in 24 hours without parting with a penny - and mainland Europe or even the USA are possible destinations.

The jailbreakers will burst from the police station at noon on August 23.

Their ringleader will be custody sergeant Chris Bramhill, who has been locking up Southend miscreants for the past two years.

Chris is organising the event to help Southend University Hospital’s Bosom Pals Appeal for improved diagnostic and screening equipment. He said: “My mum - Pam Bramhill - is being treated at Southend at the moment. The hospital is giving her superb care, but they need the new equipment to make their service even better.

“The new equipment will help to detect cancer in its early stages. This means that some patients won’t need as much treatment and it can even help to save lives.”

Chris said: “Our jailbreaking teams, each of three people, have to scrounge lifts, train journeys, flights or sea voyages to be as far away as they can by noon on August 24.

“My colleagues are an inventive bunch and I wouldn’t put it past some of them to reach major European capitals or even America.

“We really want to raise as much money as possible and for hundreds of Southend people to benefit from the scanners.”
