We fund research, campaign and support to stop people dying of bowel cancer

Story

To those very kind people who donated and supported we all thank you very much.  Your money is changing lives and continues to help bring awareness to bowel cancer.

I am going to shut the page down now after completing Ironman UK.  What a journey, thank you once again.

In May 2012 my wife Kate was diagnosed with bowel cancer, secondaries on her liver and lung at the age of 32.

Throughout 2012 and early 2013, she was put through total hell, including 6 months worth of soul and body destroying chemo.  On top of that she had 3 major surgeries including removing large segments of bowel and also 70% of her liver.

Kate was given the all clear in April 2013, 11 months after diagnosis.

During that year of hell, Kate also managed to still be an amazing mother to Max (3) and Will (2).   The kids knew Mummy was not well, but never in that year did Kate allow it to affect them.

Kate and I spent a lot of time in hospitals during that year, meeting some amazing people along the way.  Beating Bowel Cancer charity is important, with the advancements made possible through some charity donations the Doctors were able to perform things on Kate just not possible years ago.  It is for this reason I want to give something back......

I am saying yes to basically most events suggested to me, the only question is what is next!

July 20th 2014 - Marlow 70.3 half distance ironman (1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike, 13.1 mile run)

October 5th 2014 - Bournemouth marathon

April 2015 - London Marathon

May 17th 2015 - Barcelona  70.3 half distance Ironman

August 2nd 2015 - Prudential Ride 100 mile Surrey bike ride

2016 - Ironman UK

Without doubt these events will hurt, but after watching Kate go through so much in 11 months, anything is possible.

Your donations are really appreciated by us and Beating Bowel Cancer charity.

Thanks

Neil (and Kate) x
