Story

"Stage to Stage" .

Just before midnight on Friday 28th September we'll be setting out from London's Globe Theatre in the attempt to walk the 75 miles back to our very own Theatre Royal in Bury St Edmunds, in a guelling 36 hours!

The team will consist of:

 - 3 Key Walkers all attempting to complete the whole route: Simon Spence, Polly Turner and Dawn Roberts.

- 5 Lead Walkers each completing at least one of the five legs and taking responsibility for route finding and first aid for that leg: Derek Blake, Jim Keohane, Simon Daykin, Ben Turner

The team are raising money for the Theatre's Creative Learning department which does a huge amount of very valuable work in the community and for young people!

May I give you a small taste……..last year:

Over 220 children aged 5–18 years attended our weekly out of school sessions

We worked with 47 schools across Suffolk

5,343 school children came to see our pantomime…for many their first chance to see a live show.

Over 6,000 children and young people took part in our activities as workshop and project participants.

Together with its work for children and young people the department also runs activities which benefit, amongst others, disabled people, those with mental health problems, young people at risk, senior citizens, those in rural communities, and those on low income.

Much of this work cannot be achieved without private support. So come on… sponsor one of our walkers and help us ensure that individuals continue to benefit and thrive through our Creative Learning programmes. Alternatively, get in touch with Julia Read on 01284 829942 or email julia@theatreroyal.org and I can give your further details if you would like to join in. Thank you for all that you can do.
