About me

My name is Stephen Thirtle im 20 and i am challenging myself to do the Tough Guy 2010 in January, i have no experience in running apart from to the local or anything like that.I started training at the end of July 2009, the course consists of a 6mile cross country run, followed by a 8 rep run up and down a hill, army style assault courses and some tunneling which for a claustrophobic is a worrying thought and then some plunges in some cold water which last year reached a chilly -10 so need less to say this is going to be a challenge for mind and body.More information can be found on http://www.toughguy.org.uk  

Charities and Why i have chosen them

There are going to be two charities im going to donate to which are help for heroes and Grimsby Child Care Unit.The reason for these choices are very different, i will be donating to Princess Diana Hospital Grimsby as when i was born i was very premature aswell as my twin brother and was very sick my brother had meningitus and it was touch and go if we would make it at the time the unit was not particulary large but through donations from other people me and my brother had incubators with out this and the support and help of the staff i would not be here writing this and the Child Care unit got me through it and i have always wanted to give them something back to help others like me to say thanks as this was such a big part of my life.I will donate to help the heroes due to the fact i want to give the boys and girls something back that come injured as i feel not enough is done.The donations will be split 50/50 when i manage to set up another page for Grimsby Hospital.In summary i would be really grateful for any donations for these worthwhile charitys who could miss on the chance to see me freeze scream and cry with pain.
