Flora London Marathon 2009 · 26 April 2009 ·

Hospice care eases the physical and emotional pain of death and dying. Letting people focus on living, right until the end. But too many people miss out on this essential care. Hospice UK fights for hospice care for all who need it, for now and forever.

Story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

Some of you will be thinking that I have gone mad, and you're probably right! Having discovered that I felt better for a bit more exercise, I have carried on via the Tunbridge Wells half marathon in 08, and now's the time to have a crack at the 'big one'.

If you see a strange bald man in lycra pounding the lanes of Kent then it's probably me. My regular longer run at the weekend is now up to c. 15 miles. The horror of the Tunbridge Wells half-marathon (and the hill!) has just been completed for the second time, and now it's a 6 week build up to 26th April for the marathon, and everything aches already (including the left knee which is causing a few issues!)

We have been raising money for Help the Hospices at work since early 2008, and to mid Jan 09, people have raised c. £12,000. This is a chance for me to do my bit. HtH do a great job helping people when they need it most so any support that you can give would be greatly appreciated. Thanks very much!

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Help the Hospices gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
