On 29th March 2009 we are all running the Reading Half Marathon in aid of BUSCOT WARD - the special care baby unit at the Royal Berkshire Hospital in Reading.

As you may know, when my daughter Milly was born, she was starved of oxygen and extremely poorly. Buscot Ward is where she was cared for during the first week of her life. The doctors and nurses on Buscot Ward saved Milly's life. They gave us back our baby girl when we really thought that all hope was gone. I am forever indebted to them. In running this half marathon I hope that, in some small way, I can repay them for all that they did by raising much needed money for the ward. I hope that this money will help them to give hope to other families who find themselves in the same desperate situation that we did. I'd like to thank Jen, Chris and Clare for supporting me by also running for this charity, which is very special to me.

Please sponsor us in our efforts so that many more babies can benefit from the miracle work of Buscot Ward. We have all trained long and hard and intend to run the whole race - hopefully in a very respectable time! (No pressure then!!)
